This message was sent by the Sovereign Grand Commander to all members of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite in Romania on the occasion of the Easter Holidays - 2024.
My dear brother,
Today we are, somehow, with our families...
Most of us have reached the age where we give more gifts than we receive. This is ok too…
Today is a big holiday, which takes place in the middle of the family. But I also think about the fact that Freemasonry brought each of us Brothers that most of us did not have in our family at home. Freemasonry, like a second, bigger family, which, unlike the family at home, leaves us the option of choosing who to be Brothers with. This is ok too…
Last night, at the Resurrection, there was a lot of people in the churchyard, the majority being young adults, fewer young teenagers. The first category actually comes from the "harvest" of the second, above which the age thresholds have been set from which the voluntary observance of tradition increases self-respect. I went through this too, I think you too…
It was good for me to find that sharing the faith enhances in us the pride of being a Christian. The pride of belonging to "something" bigger and infinitely more comprehensive than myself. I felt inner joy from a few discreetly sketched greetings, but clearly "as a sign of fidelity", a kind of delicate, but natural and dignified affirmation of the pride of also belonging to the Scottish Rite.
Then I knew that my voice and your voice, wherever we were, even at such a holy moment, could actually be heard by each of our Brothers throughout the Land and throughout the World.
It will also be heard when you say "Christ is Risen!" and when you answer "Truly he is Risen!"
We are going forward? Yes, we are moving forward!
So: Christ is Risen, my dear Brother, wherever you are!!!
