Message of the Sovereign Grand Commander PP&Il. Fr. Stelian Nistor, 33° to every member of our order on the occasion of Christmas 2022

My dear brother,

Maybe my message doesn't find you exactly as I wanted, that is, very healthy and happy. We still have time for these wishes to come true, I hope as soon as possible!

The end of the year also brings with it the moment when, by tradition, we are used to thinking that something that was bad is over, and something much better for us is ready to begin. May the Great Architect help us to be so!

The world we live in seems to have wandered as in a thick fog.

It seems that our world has had enough of good and after many years of seemingly calm flow, it has entered a dangerous maelstrom of evil.

Again, as so many times throughout time, the petty interests and demagoguery of some, the malice and perhaps even the madness of others, but also the incompetence of too many of the world's decision-makers in power can lead the world in which we live and raise our children and grandchildren in - an abyss. We know that when someone repeats the same mistakes with the hope of getting different results, it can be at least a step towards something that is not desirable.

The world, our country and Masonry have been through bad times.

The world, our Country and Freemasonry survived the evil, temporarily learned their lessons and moved on.

But have we, today, more specifically you and I, gone through such evil before? Are we, you and I and all ours, really ready to defend ourselves? Will we be able to move forward? If so, how?

The burden of getting through the fog of the present has fallen upon our generation of Masons. Even if we did not realize this, we now face those who will follow the responsibility to defend not only the values, the principles and the very existence of the Scottish Rite and implicitly Freemasonry, but even the continuity of our World.

The nominal responsibility of each of us to the future cannot yet be assessed. We cannot be indifferent, however, in what way the result of our action or inaction now will be inherited by our descendants... For our children and grandchildren, the page of each of us, as it is written by his deeds in the book of History, that we want, that we don't want, it still has white spots...

Provided we have Peace.

As I know about you, I think you are also looking for solutions to these problems.

What if on Holy Eve evening, let's say at 19:00, you will think just for a moment to have Peace? Just a moment, but at 19:00 sharp. I will do the same. Our other Brothers will do the same, for we have once again proved the power of our united thought. It is said that in that circumstance the power of our thought also contributed to a healing considered difficult to achieve.

Your thought, put together with my thought and together with the thought of each of our Brethren would synergistically go to the Great Architect of the Universe and perhaps return from there with a thousand times greater force.

Let this be the beginning. When, and not if, we are followed by the many, there will be light again and darkness will no longer be able to hide Peace.

May this force of our thought even illuminate the darkness so that Peace can be seen again!

We will join our thoughts today at 19:00 in the Universal Chain. Until then, I wish you, in a very personal way, all the best in the world for you and your loved ones, with lots of health and, if possible, with a little happiness!
