Supremul Consiliu de Grad 33 și Ultim - Ritul Scoțian Antic și Acceptat din România

Supreme Council of the 33rd and Last Degree

of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Romania

RSAA's SMC message on the occasion of the New Year 2025!

My dear brother,

I'm writing to you because I didn't get to talk to you properly at the Odeon.

It is true that the presence in our midst of so many official delegations from abroad legitimizes us, honors us, but also censors us in approaching and debating internal problems and their solutions. However, it was seen, without ostentation, what is the stage of elevation at which the only Regular and Recognized Scottish Rite in Romania, our Rite, is.

I believe that, for what was achieved by the Rite in the past year, the merit belongs to all the Master Masons who are members of the RSAA. Together, the two sovereign and independent Masonic entities, the MLNR and the Scottish Rite, we form the Masonry in Romania. The regularity, recognition and international appreciation of the Rite reflect informally but positively on our quality as Master Masons of the MLNR. It is also your work and that is why I thank you. I know that you already know how much you have done and how much there is still to do and you will stop thanking only as much as you appreciate that is due to you…

The year 2025 brings us the historic and unique moment of our Supreme Council taking over the Presidency of the World Conference of Supreme Councils of the RSAA for the next five years. The imitators of Freemasonry on both sides are trying their best to prevent this. Try… How clearly the difference between being a Mason and just being a member of a Masonic organization has become apparent lately. We are certainly not on the wrong side of the road, and not just because we don’t eat sarmale from a wheelbarrow… Like you, I, as a Master Mason, am trying to assume with honor and dignity the military chivalric tradition of the Scottish Rite. I am trying. I realize, like you, that I am part of something that is greater, deeper, more just and stronger than any of us could be alone.

No one is born a Mason. Like you, I am trying to be a Mason. I am trying…

A great poet of this Nation was asked: "What are you preparing for the future, Nichita?" He replied: "For the future, I am preparing a past as magnificent as possible!" Perhaps this is what we have to do for the future of the Scottish Rite and for Romania: to prepare from the present in which we work a past as magnificent as possible!

A splendid New Year, my dear Brother!
A splendid New Year, our dear Rita!
A splendid New Year, Romania, our country!

We are going forward? Yes, right before!
