Supremul Consiliu de Grad 33 și Ultim - Ritul Scoțian Antic și Acceptat din România

Supreme Council of the 33rd and Last Degree

of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Romania

Feast of the Rite – December 2022

On Saturday, December 10, 2022, a new "Odeon" took place.

We are used to calling it, more familiarly and warmly, the National Session of the Supreme Council of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite from Romania.

Only one Supreme Council is accepted in a country, namely the one regular in birth and recognized as such by the Supreme Mother Council of the World in Washington. This Supreme Council, under the direction of the Sovereign Grand Commander, the Most Powerful and Illustrious Brother Stelian Nistor, 33°, is the only one in regular Romania and the only one recognized by absolutely all the Supreme Councils in the world and by way of consequence, implicitly also by absolutely all the Great Lodges in the countries of the respective Supreme Councils.

Through the SMC of the SC of the RSAA, Romania is now the acting Vice-President of the Conference of Sovereign Grand Commanders of Europe and Associated Countries as well as the acting Vice-President of the World Conference of the Supreme Councils of the RSAA. At the World Conference in August, in Paraguay, SMC from Romania was unanimously elected President of this Conference for the period 2025-2030.

We are also aware of the mention made by one of the Sovereigns present in Bucharest, namely that the holding of these positions by a representative of freemasonry in Romania is "unprecedented and it is difficult to imagine a time horizon for its repetition". Paradoxically, it took an outsider to notice that, in an internal context still soiled and not completely healed by the imposture of some imitators of Freemasonry, we actually built and live, with the discretion of the chivalric-military tradition of the Scottish Rite, the most brilliant moment of freemasonry in Romania from 1880 onwards. We are going forward?

Again he impressed and impressed us all with what we feel is the "magical force" of our Odeon. The delegates of the Ritual Bodies of the Rite came to Bucharest from all over the country, making efforts and even sacrifices worthy of great respect and appreciation, to be together again. To be "proud of the one on my left, proud of the one on my right and they of me", as I heard a Brother say enthusiastically.

The name of each one of us, those whom the Great Architect appointed us to be part of this Masonic generation, is linked both to the historical glory of a unique moment, but also to the bitterness of the struggle that was imposed for the "masonization" of the Grand National Lodge in Romania . We are going forward?

Although it was neither an anniversary nor a "special edition" but just an ordinary National Session, the external participation was like an International Conference. Romania was a welcoming host for the delegates of many Supreme Councils in Friendship: Germany, France, Italy, Israel, Turkey, Greece, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Estonia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Monaco, Cyprus... Other Supreme Councils sent messages that they somehow go beyond the formal framework of the customs of Masonic politeness through the warmth of good wishes for the works. The messages of both the Supreme Councils of the USA, the Northern Jurisdiction and the Southern Jurisdiction, i.e. the "Mother Supreme Council of the World" (which you see in the attachment), as well as that of the SC of England and the SC of Scotland, Spain, Australia, Canada, Brazil, Switzerland, Croatia, Colombia, Portugal, Paraguay, Dominican Republic, Ivory Coast, Chile, Andorra, Netherlands, Mauritius, Haiti, Azerbaijan and Uruguay.

A truly exceptional event is the request received from SMC PP and Ill Brother Peter Samiec, of the SC of the Northern Jurisdiction of the United States of America to agree to appoint PP and Ill Brother David A. Glattly Grand Representative of the SC of RSAA from Romania in the SC of the Northern Jurisdiction of the USA

It is unprecedented for a Supreme Council to be proposed by a US RSAA SC to accept as Grand Representative a Sovereign Grand Commander. It is unprecedented for Romania to be granted not only the honor but also the corridor of efficiency created by the chance to be permanently represented in the United States of America by the SMC from the immediate past of the Northern Jurisdiction, who is at the same time a great Masonic personality worldwide. We are going forward?

Taking advantage of the presence in Bucharest of so many foreign delegations, SMC PP and Ill Stelian Nistor, 33°, from the current position of Vice-President in the chair of World Conference of Supreme Councils held the first official meeting to prepare the 2025 edition in Bucharest. The SMC from Romania proposed and accepted that at every meeting of the Sovereigns from now on, at the Supreme Councils of each country, a time for reflection, for structuring some positions generated by the achievements accumulated by each Supreme Council, should be allocated. In this way, the meeting in Bucharest in 2025 will be the formal framework in which, following the sharing of experiences through consistent debates over the course of more than two years, to validate the decisions necessary to streamline the life of the Scottish Rite throughout the world. Romania will be able to go down in history as the place where the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite in its universal entirety decided its future evolution. This will be the way in which TRADITION will respond to the challenges of adapting to the current times.

During the Open Country, an important moment was allocated to the delegation DeMolay International Romania, led by Illustrious Brother Aurel Manea, 33°. "DeMolay Romania is a leadership training organization for young people between the ages of 12 and 21, a club, a brotherhood, friends who want to do things together, for the common good. DeMolay encourages original thinking, creative planning, responsible decision-making and cooperative action.” Our Illustrious Brother Aurel Manea, 33°, dedicated his life to this Order, causing an unprecedented development of it in Europe, the growth rate being the highest in the world. Moreover, he is the craftsman of the spread of DeMolay values in other countries as well, Greece being the last example of great success. For all these extraordinary achievements, for the exceptional way in which he represents Romania, the Supreme Council of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite in Romania decided to grant the International Order of Molay, Jurisdiction of Romania, the "Andrei Mureșanu" distinction in the Degree of Knight.

The Supreme Council of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite in Romania unanimously decided, for the exceptional way in which he represents Romania, to decorate the Illustrious Brother Aurel Manea, 33°, with the highest and rare distinction that can be obtained in the Scottish Rite in the world, the "Great Cross" (Grand Cross).

During the National Session, in the Open Land and other brothers from all over the country, but not many, received from the Supreme Council the recognition of their merits by awarding orders and decorations. This is also how some Ritual Bodies were decorated, which were also highlighted by Masonic devotion in the last two years.

Then a number of 61 candidates Master Masons of the MLNR took the step of Initiation in the 4th Degree, that of Secret Master. Another 184 Brothers were granted degrees of the Scottish Rite from the 14th Degree to the 32nd Degree in the Rites.

The "Year-End Party" of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite from Romania ended this special day, in the CEC Palace, an exclusive, impressive location, in a delightful atmosphere that we invite you to discover at the end of the photo gallery.

We are going forward? The answer is YES, right before!
