Until then, I know you know how useful it would be if, at least during the days of the Holy Feast of Easter, we managed to be better, more forgiving, and even happier. Or healthier and happier. Or wiser… But can we?
The commotion around us, generated and maintained by the pandemics and the vicinity of the war, almost does not allow us to hear the voice of reason. What about the voice of the heart?

Can we pay someone to feed us, can we pay someone to pick our cherries or supply us, but can we pay someone else to be healthy, happy or wise in our place? I don't think so. We try to take these on our own.

See, my dear Brother, we are part of the Scottish Rite, the elite of Freemasonry. This also means realizing that we are part of something much bigger than any of us, taken by ourselves. The Scottish rite was resisted by men who honorably assumed the obligations of military and chivalric tradition, not just rights. This assumption brings us forward as well.

We, the Masons in Romania, have and honor a double celebration today.

Today is therefore Union Day. There is no small love and no great love, just as there is no small union and no great union. On January 24, 1859, the milestone of the birth of our country was laid, as we still have it today.

On January 24, 1859, some of the masons of Moldavia and Muntenia at that time contributed to the Union of the Principalities, on the way to becoming theirs and those of the future as masons of Romania. 163 years have passed since Cuza's Union. The formal union took place, at one point in history it was even completed and then chipped. The union in terms of moral, educational and functional seriousness is not over yet…

Romania has for 142 years had a regular and recognized Grand Lodge and for 141 years a Supreme Council of the Scottish Rite, regular and recognized, the Sovereign and Independent Masonic entities necessary for the existence of a modern State.

Thus, with the re-enactment of the Enlightenment, on January 24, 1993, some Masons of Romania who physically, morally and emotionally resisted persecution for over fifty years, chose to be this day and the Day of Union of the best ideals of the country expressed by Masonic principles. . They were joined, and continue to be joined, by the idealists, the fighters, but also the opportunists of such moments, as in our days.

Long live the Country to which I swore Faith, long live our love for Romania!

Let us, the Romanian Freemasons, live too, so that some of us may have the wisdom to know how to respect and defend it.

My dear brother,

This is not the usual end-of-year message. We live in a time of change. I don't want to pay homage to the end. It's time to start. It's a message from the beginning of the year. Yes, I intentionally wrote "years" in the plural. I wanted to be a message about the beginning of what we will do going forward in the years to come.

I believe that the only time when our country, Romania, was truly RESPECTED by the rest of the world in the year ending, was on December 17, at our National Session. It was concrete and unequivocal, it's just on the Masonic level. For all the foreigners awarded by us, the Romanians, to consider, in plain sight, that it is an honor for them, cannot be a small thing. Someone from abroad said that on December 17 in Bucharest history was written. Romania is respected by the whole Masonic world and due to its attitude and achievements The Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of the Last 140 Years. Thanks to each of its member Masonic Masters. I mean, thanks to you, my dear Brother.

Now we can truly build together, "from the foundation stone," a spiritual work with which our direct descendants, from our families, not only those to whom we will become foremost in the Rite, may be proud over the years. Not to be ashamed. It's a truly historic chance.

At the online meeting in Bucharest on December 17, 41 of the approximately 60 countries in which there are -Regular and Recognized- Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rites were represented at the highest level by 69 delegates. Although fed up with so many Zoom, many over 700 Romanian Brothers wanted to be together, some not even at the whole event, as much as they could, entering and leaving either due to internet connections, or on the way to us or through foreign countries, others through hospitals, others, it's true, few, of nerves and envy… Did we need another confirmation that we are not on the wrong side of the road? Our imitators, in fact an increasingly insignificant group of miserable imitators of Freemasonry in our country, those who, lying and lying to themselves, led travelers here, could not present the "ticket" to control. They were taken out of the wagons. Still coming down…

As long as you can tell yourself that life begins today, the urge to move forward takes on a deeper meaning. But anyway, whether we like it or not, whether we accept it or not, the rest of your life and my life begins today. Let's clean it up. Let's at least try to make it better. The modesty displayed may, in fact, obscure the poverty of the facts. Asking for a little bit of life can mean that you have little to give in return. You risk being left with nothing. Asking for the absolute, you will still be left with something. Looking for perfection, we will not achieve perfection, it is only of the Great Architect. The state of grace is given to the seeker, who is endowed with the power to know. However, this is not for everyone.

Freemasonry is also told, but it is also lived. Freemasonry is not imitated. It is lived. Freemasonry unites. The monkeying of Freemasonry is divisive. Imitation does not stand. No matter how hard you try, it's still a fake. Waiting and doing nothing does not always indicate wisdom. But it can raise the suspicion of hypocrisy. You know that if you pretend you don't see the mess, it doesn't stop. And it sprinkles you. But you are too smart not to know that those around us see us exactly at the same time we think we only see them.

Life begins today. But you know that not only from today onwards do you have the chance for your name to be mentioned in the future among the real men who undertook to wash away the shame of Freemasonry in Romania by cleansing the filth. Among those who restore to Romanian Freemasonry Trust, Honor and Dignity. They tried to steal them from us by imitating deceptions. Taking advantage of our inattention, the imitators tried to temporarily pawn our values in exchange for undue Masonic, social, and material benefits. You can lie to someone for a while, but not everyone all the time. Tic, tac, tic tac… Stay with us who won the ticket and really deserve their place. Receiving this message is confirmation of your ticket. The road will not seem long to you, because the route is beautiful and the company chosen. Look at who is on your right and left: are you a little proud? But so do we! We're moving forward!

The Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, our Rite, celebrates 140 years of existence in Romania. Long live us!

In our country, in 140 years, the Scottish Rite has gone through two world wars and a few dictatorships: royal, fascist, communist. He will also go through a pandemic… Even if they sometimes tried to ban him outright, they only slowed him down. The rite did not stop and does not stop. The past, but also the present, have shown that dictatorships pass, the Scottish Rite remains.
Each of us contributes as and as much as he can, with his social and Masonic prestige, to the increase of the social and Masonic prestige of the Rite. Aim? When one of us fails only with his powers in resolving a situation, may the greater prestige of the Rite come to his aid. Prestige, not strength. Assuming you belong to something bigger than you is a unique feeling, isn't it?

No one was born a Freemason, but we are trying to become one. The Scottish Rite is in fact a school which, as our forefathers said, has the "key and the lock" of an old-fashioned Masonic refinement. Even the elite. It is a Masonic path with firm rules and harsh customs. It is not an easy path. It's not for everyone, not everyone can resist. It is only for true Masonic masters. It is, in fact, a school for leaders, which is formed and evolves in a freely agreed discipline, of chivalric and military tradition. Freemasonry is lived, not mimicked.

"I swear allegiance to my country, Romania. I swear to defend them and protect them, even at the cost of my life, the Name, the People and the Tricolor Flag! ” Our brothers made a dungeon and even sacrificed their lives for our country to remain ours. If today we are part of a strong Rite, recognized and respected by all the Supreme Councils in the world, it is first of all the late fruit of these masons of character who could have been tortured, killed, but not allowed to be bought. That is why we will erect at the end of November an oak cross, a simple cross, in their memory. We will write on it only that "1881-2021". Only we will know what a complex meaning this seemingly simple inscription has!

Next to the crucifix, we will plant 140 acacias. An acacia 3.5 meters high for each year of life of the Scottish Rite in Romania. Only we will know the significance of the 140 acacias. Acacias of the Rite. Only we, and when we choose to tell them, will know our children. They will choose to tell our grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Only we and the Masons who will follow us will know, to whom we become the forerunners they can be proud of.

The 140 acacias will become a landmark in the biography of the Scottish Rite, not just in our country. Every Lodge, every Kadoș Chapter or Council, every Inspectorate or even every Brother in good standing at the Rite, will be able to adopt one of these acacias, with which his name will last over time. This will be recorded in a time capsule, buried in the foundation of the crucifix. "See, Brother, that acacia, the 77th in a row, or the 3rd, or the 140th… was put by your grandfather or put by our Lodge in 2021."

We, the members of the Rite of its 140th year, try to do our part of our duty to the History of Freemasonry in Romania. If you do not choose to write your own page for those who will be in the Rite in another 140 years, History will not wait for you. But for everything you've done so far for Rite, thank you! But you, my dear Brother, know that you will retain from my thanks only as much as you know you deserve.

We talk so much about Light, Love, Harmony, Peace, Tolerance, Good Morals and again Love and Light, that we have no time to live them. Love, if it is only told, is no longer Love, but becomes just a story about Love. Love is lived, not told.

Light comes from everywhere, but it only enters where it finds an opening. Light penetrates only where it knows it is desired. Where she knows it's happening and she's loved. The light of the Feast embraces us all, the good and the bad alike. For those who already have it, it enhances their brilliance. To the others he can only emphasize more clearly the outline of the darkness within them. Darkness exists only where Light cannot enter. In the Light, however, the darkness is better seen and so you can avoid it. Don't touch you.

Tonight Holy, my dear Brother, those who love the Light will be together again in thought and perhaps in soul, all over the Country, wherever we are. I will look at the thought on my left and I will be proud. I will look at you, Brother thinking to my right and I will be proud.

At midnight, the Light will enter our souls, proclaiming "Christ is risen!" And we, the Brethren of the Scottish Rite, lining up in the minds of the left and right of each of us, will hear ourselves answering from all over the Country, from wherever we are: "Truly He is Risen!"

My dear brother,

I hear the only good thing about 2020 is that it's coming to an end.

What more can be said about the year in which, worse than the Covid-19 virus, the virus of megalomania, imposture, division, fraud and betrayal also hit us?

Treatments have already appeared for both viruses. Antibodies have been activated for both predators. They will be defeated.
There are also fair answers to what happened to us this year.

We did not lack the answers. The right questions were missing. There was no manhood to put them. We lacked the courage to put them on.
The shame of being fooled and dishonored will haunt us for a while. But it will pass. Our right deeds will complete the recovery.

Suddenly, this year, we turned to face the Initiation mirror. And I saw the truth. And we shuddered.

Perhaps the return of Freemasonry to the life of Romania immediately after 1989, although it was inevitable, was done too early. Maybe society wasn't ready yet. It still took time to think. The rush led to an imitation of Freemasonry, a pompous and bottomless form. If it were not so, the shameful eruption of the generic episode called "Ninel" would not have existed.

The sufferings of the Romanian Freemasons this year prove to be the pains of the birth of the true Freemasonry in Romania. The Grand National Lodge of Romania returns to authentic Freemasonry, respecting the universal principles and the Old Landmarks. Only in this way will we be able to forget that he had begun to take on the twisted face of envy, hatred, and imposture of the fraud of our Order.

My dear Brother, life begins today. From today on, you have the chance for your name to be mentioned in the future among those who will have assumed the cleansing of the current misery, giving back to the Romanian Freemasonry the Honor and Dignity that were temporarily confiscated.

Now we can truly build together "from the foundation stone" a spiritual work that our families can be proud of over the years. Not to be ashamed. It's a truly historic chance.

The Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Romania has never stopped!

Under adverse conditions it adapted and continued to work since its inception in 1881.

We won't stop now.

The Scottish Rite adapted its way of working during the First World War. And he survived.

In the new state organization enshrined in the Constitution of Greater Romania in 1923, the Scottish Rite worked and developed in a normal democratic climate.

He adapted his way of working during the royal dictatorship of Charles II.

And he survived.

He survived our fascist persecution. 

He survived World War II.

He also survived the communist persecution. He adapted his way of working in exile during his ban by the communist regime. And he worked (for example, the Sovereign Grand Commander of the RSAA Supreme Council of Poland, Marek Brzezinski 33, is very proud that his 4th Grade Certificate, Initiation into the Scottish Rite, is signed by SMC Marcel Shapira Romania of Paris, in 1985).

After the fall of the communist regime, the Scottish Rite returned home, worked and developed.

State of emergency

During this time, the Scottish Rite is being tried again, but the Coronavirus is not just about us. It is a universal challenge, but one that is being addressed nationally. 

It is our turn today to defend the existence of the Scottish Rite in Romania. We inherit it through the intelligence, military-knightly discipline, devotion and sacrifices of our forerunners. This is the only way we will write each page in the history of the Rite. Only in this way do we qualify ourselves to become over the years the proudly mentioned forerunners of those who will carry on the Rite.

The Romanian RSAA, as an organization of responsible citizens, will adapt its way of working to the new conditions. We unconditionally submit to the decisions of the law enforcement authorities and understand how bad our physical encounters could be during the pandemic.

It was hard for us to miss Odeon. It is difficult for us to stay "social" away from each other, but the health we all want for our families is part of the light of the Rite.

Until the national health protection conditions allow it, the activity of the RSAA in Romania will move "into exile" on the Internet. And he will survive.

The precedent set in the field of inter-Masonic relations by our mode of communication so far, as well as the activity of the "Internet Lodge" within UGLE (Grand Lodge of England) are already validated realities.

Throughout this calendar year, you have assumed with honor and dignity, as
mason in the Scottish Rite of Romania, in the military chivalric tradition of our Rite,
the fact that we are part of something that is bigger, deeper, fairer and stronger
than any of us could have taken by ourselves.

It was a full year, in which both our Masonic outfits from the Ritual Bodies
as well as the projects generated for the life of the Rite proved to be, for all
present, Romanians and foreigners, at the Odeon review, to be distinguished by nature,
Masonic rigor, emotion and excellence.

Together we will continue the development of the Ritual Bodies. We will continue
Rite courses and conferences that have proven to be so useful this year as well
benefit. Together we will continue to express our faith, our compassion by deeds
and charity.

We swore together the faith of our country, Romania. We will continue to serve
by deeds The country, respecting its laws and traditions, supporting its values. Defending them,
they will in turn be able to further defend the being of the Romanian Nation.
Respecting our Statute and Oaths, we respect our dignity and
the honor of masons and true men. That's how we came to be respected as Rites and
each as a Romanian mason.

For all this, my dear Brother, I would like you to be alone in the New Year
in the beautiful part of life, to be able to continue to enjoy health, well-being,
